Generosity Team

Formerly known as the "Stewardship Team", this ministry team focuses on organizing efforts for Gethsemane's members and friends to show their generosity to one another and to our neighbors. Here are a few current ministry projects:

Range Transitional Housing Christmas Giving

This is an annual ministry that is like the old-fashioned "angel tree". Members and friends take a gift list from the board and fulfill those Christmas wishes, then wrap them as gifts and return them to the church for anonymous distribution.

Thank you to all the congregation members who acquired a family gift list from our board in the narthex. It is with great joy to say that all the names have been collected. Please remember that the gifts need to be wrapped, labeled, and back at the church for distribution by Wednesday, December 15th

Community Clothesline & Little Free Pantry

Cleaning out your closet for the fall? Bring your gently used or new items to share with our neighbors on the community clothesline! Place in plastic bags and mark with style & size. ex. “Men’s L shirt” The Community Clothesline is a place where members and friends can donate and find new or gently used clothing. It is located ont the chain-link fence at the west end of our building (between the building and the creek).

Our little free pantry is open for anyone to donate or take what they need. Nonperishable food items, personal care, and paper products are usually stocked in the pantry. The pantry is refilled daily during the week. We recently held a friendly "Stocktober" competition between those who regularly sit on either side of the aisle of our sanctuary on Sundays! This effort raised enought to keep our little pantry stocked for the next few months. Currently, we are also partnering with our Lutheran Social Services neighbors on this project.

Ask and Receive Board

Check the board to see how you can serve and love your neighbor. Put up a tag if you need some help, companionship, or prayer! A few needs that on the board are:

  • monthly bus pass for Arrowhead Transit,
  • members looking for a ride to church,
  • Trac Fone card for cell phone,
  • community members looking for help with moving and/or information on new housing.

If you see something you can do, bring the card to the church office and we’ll connect you with the person who needs your skill, gift, or presence. If you are currently not attending church in person or are unable to stop by the church, call the office and we'll post a need for you. (218-741-4961)
